malpass added these pithy words on Oct 01 08 at 10:37 amOne-off license is like any other standard license you buy. You pay for the current version of the software and the license is permanent for that version, but that is all you get. No updates, no dedicated support, no maintenance.
Maintenance includes dedicated support and you get all future versions on the day of release totally free.
The cheaper option is to have a one-off license and then later if you wanted a new version instead of paying for a one-off license again you simply pay for an upgrade.
